Most common incubators for premature babies are still at the same level of design and innovation as in the seventies. Rarely is the emotional burden of the child and the parents included in the conception. In our concept NEOVUM we consider the incubator as an egg, which has an inner and an outer life. Between the inside (the side of the child) and the outside (the side of the parents and caregivers) is the "shell", which fulfils different needs from both sides. The concave incision from the outside gives the parents a feeling of better vision and closer proximity to the child, while on the other side, the constricted shape gives their premature baby a stronger feeling of security. Instead of blankets, NEOVUM works with an intelligent darkening system, which is intended to imitate the soothing colouring in the womb, and proves barrier-free for a wide range of circumstances.
